Emcee for Talent Show Announced

Rosel to emcee talent show, lead parade
Liberal native and former Miss Kansas Adrienne Rosel will emcee this year’s Pancake Day Talent Show and also serve as grand marshal for the parade. This will mark Rosel’s second time to emcee the talent show, and Talent Show Chairman Sally Fuller noted that Rosel is a crowd-pleasing host.
“Because of her knowledge of Liberal and the Talent Show, she makes an excellent emcee who relates well to the crowd,” Fuller said. “She emceed the show the year she was Miss Kansas and had an engaging stage presence that everyone, audience and performers alike, seemed to enjoy. She kept the show moving at a nice pace throughout the evening while entertaining the crowd with stories of her years growing up here.”
Rosel has fond memories of her childhood in Liberal. She got her start at Liberal’s Dance Images and made her performing debut on the James Maskus Auditorium stage. A graduate of the University of Kansas, Rosel, was Miss Kansas in 2005. After her year of service as Miss Kansas, she moved to New York City where she performed with the USO of Metropolitan New York, entertaining active duty military and their families. Last summer she starred in the musical production of “TEXAS.” She is currently the marketing director for “TEXAS.”
The annual Talent Show is set for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 in the James Maskus Auditorium at Liberal High School. Advance tickets are $7 and are on sale at First National Bank. Tickets will be $10 at the door. The Talent Show is sponsored by the Lions Club. For more information, call Sally Fuller at 626-0170.
